Anti-Inflation Shield and cover supplement

As part of the Government Anti-Inflation Shield, it was decided to extend the anti-inflation shield, introduced earlier until October 31 this year, by the end of 2022. The extension of the period of validity applies, among others, to reductions in excise duty on electricity, reductions in excise duty rates on certain motor fuels, exemption from excise duty on electricity for households and VAT rates on food and natural gas.

In implementing the assumptions of the Anti-Inflation Shield, Solare Energy will include in the VAT settlement documents:

electricity tax exemption for households – for the period from 1 January to 31 December 2022,
reduction of the VAT rate on electricity supplies from 23 to 5% – for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2022.

The Government’s Anti-Inflation Shield also includes support for middle and low income households in the form of a cover supplement. Municipal offices are responsible for its implementation.

How can I use the supplement?

You must submit the application to the appropriate municipal office by October 31, 2022. Further instructions will be provided by the municipal office, indicating the relevant documents and steps to be taken. Comprehensive information on the cover allowance can be found on the website of the Ministry of Climate and Environment:
